Panel Builder System Integrator

Inventory management is complex. Having the right products, in the right quantities, and at the right time is essential for establishing and maintaining cost-effective production. To help end users save time and money, Pepperl+Fuchs offers a practical solution for managing inventory—an industrial vending machine.

Industrial vending machines provide parts when they are needed and can be customized based on product type, the number of product slots needed (up to 60 slots), and the interface (PIN, barcode reader, magnetic strip reader, or proximity reader). As long as an Ethernet connection and a 110 V power outlet are available, the machine can be placed wherever you need it. Pepperl+Fuchs will take care of installing the machine, training employees on how to use it, and restocking parts.

Once the machine has been installed, parts will be available for employees 24/7. User permissions can be set to allow certain personnel to vend parts, which can help prevent part hoarding and theft. The machine also comes with software that can track who receives parts, why parts are taken, and how many parts are left to improve part tracking and user accountability. This and other data collected by the industrial vending machine can be accessed remotely. When parts are low, the machine’s software can automatically reorder them to avoid stock outages and backorders.

Industrial supply vending machines from Pepperl+Fuchs provide plants with cost savings, accessibility, accountability, customization, and control. For more information, take a look at some of the products that are available in their vending machines.

One of Canada’s largest wastewater treatment plants at Annacis Island provides secondary treatment to approximately 175 billion litres of wastewater every year for over 1 million residents in 14 municipalities. After almost 20 years in operation, the variable frequency drives supporting the critical pumping systems for the primary treatment and secondary treatment facilities had to be replaced to ensure that the plant’s high operational availability and reliability will not be compromised in serving the plant, the surrounding municipalities and the environment. Metro Vancouver Regional District chose to deploy Rittal’s enclosure and power distribution solutions with E-plan software to efficiently support vital infrastructure improvements by reducing equipment replacement times and thereby minimizing risk to plant operations.
