Yaskawa Motoman Collaborative Robots Offer Flexible and Affordable Task Automation
October 3, 2019
Featuring power and force limiting technology, Yaskawa Motoman’s HC10 and HC10DT robots work safely with, or in close proximity to humans by stopping the robot in the event of contact with an operator. Dual channel torque sensors in all joints constantly monitor force to quickly react to contact. The HC10 and HC10DT are six-axis collaborative models designed to eliminate operator pinch points while through-arm utilities hide cabling and increase safety by reducing the risks of snagging or interference with other equipment.
Ideal for novice robot programmers, both models offer intuitive robot programming with a quick and easy learning curve. Utilizing the Smart Pendant, the HC10 can be hand-guided for easy positioning of the robot. The HC10DT (direct teach) offers intuitive robot path programming through the use of three easy-to-use programming buttons.
Precision hand-guiding for teaching new program paths allows the HC10 and HC10DT to be quickly deployed or redeployed on demand, decreasing system downtime and increasing ROI. Whether operating at full speed on industrial mode or collaborative speed on PFL mode, cycle times are optimized based upon risk assessments and process requirements.
Both models offer a 10-kg payload and 1,200 mm reach and can perform a broad range of material handling, machine tending or light assembly tasks. Function-specific tooling and accessories are available from various Yaskawa partners.
The HC10 collaborative robot leverages Yaskawa’s long history of building robots that are durable and reliable, resulting in minimal downtime.
The HC10 robot is controlled by Yaskawa’s high-performance YRC1000 controller that is built to a global standard and does not require a transformer for input voltages ranging from 380VAC to 480VAC. The YRC1000 is compact (598 W x 490 H x 427 D mm), resulting in reduced space requirements. The HC10DT is controlled by the ultra-compact YRC1000micro controller. Its small footprint (425 W x 125 H x 280 D mm) and lightweight cabinet are ideal for factories with high-density layouts, where stacking of controllers may be required.
