PROFINET Version of High Temperature Identification System Added to Pepperl+Fuchs Portfolio

January 21, 2020

Pepperl+Fuchs now introduces a new version of its tried-and-tested OIT high temperature identification system. The latest portfolio addition features a PROFINET interface with integrated network switch. This switch enables quick and easy connection to PLCs commonly used in automotive industries while also supporting ring topologies. In terms of ruggedness and reliability, the new version is on par with the well-known Ethernet TCP/IP version.

Camera-Based High Temperature Identification for Safe Detection

The high temperature identification system with integrated PROFINET interface features a sturdy and compact housing. Built on industrial vision methods, it is the only camera-based high temperature identification system on the market and features an LED board for internal illumination. This special solution ensures safe detection in harsh and high-temperature environments.

High Temperature Code Carriers for Applications Up To 500 °C

Users benefit from reliable reading of the code carriers, which are made from nearly indestructible stainless steel plates with perforated matrices. The sandblasted, less-reflexive code carriers can be easily identified even when dirty and are suited for applications up to 500 °C—for instance in drying systems, painting lines, and electroplating plants.

Optional double reading further enhances process stability by allowing code carriers with different levels of brightness to be detected. Nevertheless, if external factors might somehow affect detection quality, the device’s diagnostics come into play. In case the recorded image is still readable, but deteriorating ambient conditions might cause a reading error, an easy-to-identify warning is initiated. Resulting error images can be sent and displayed parallel to PROFINET via Ethernet TCP/IP, allowing precise troubleshooting.

Various Accessories from Pepperl+Fuchs

Pepperl+Fuchs not only offers the high temperature identification system and code carriers, but also a range of complementing accessories. Aside from the Vision Configurator parameterization software, this includes replacement glasses as well as cables and connectors from the Pepperl+Fuchs connectivity portfolio—providing an easy-to-integrate solution for high temperature identification from a single source.

ADVANCED Motion Controls Takes Servo Drives to New Heights (and Depths) with FlexPro Extended Environment Product Line

Advanced Motion Controls is proud to announce the addition of six new CANopen servo drives with Extended Environment capabilities to their FlexPro line. These new drives join AMC’s existing EtherCAT Extended Environment FlexPro drives, making the FlexPro line the go-to solution for motion control applications in harsh environments.

Many motion control applications take place in conditions that are less than ideal, such as extreme temperatures, high and low pressures, shocks and vibrations, and contamination. Electronics, including servo drives, can malfunction or sustain permanent damage in these conditions.
