WomenPower@HANNOVER MESSE Digital Days
July 13, 2020
The virtual WomenPower congress starts on July 14 as part of the HANNOVER MESSE Digital Days . The program kicks off with opening speeches by Sabine Bendiek, CEO of Microsoft Germany, and Dorothee Bär, Germany’s Commissioner for Digitalization, and then continues with exciting talks and live discussions.
For example, Carla Reemtsma, activist and spokesperson for the initiative Fridays for the Future, and Philip Nuyken from the Federation of German Industries discuss the topic “Ways out of the crisis: economic growth vs. climate change?”
Cawa Younosi, head of HR and member of the executive board at SAP Germany, explains what SAP has learned on the way to an equal opportunity corporate culture. Then Agnes Heftberger, member of the management board at IBM Germany, and Elke Lücke, head of personnel development and talent strategy at Porsche, start a dialogue about the challenges and experiences of the parallel disciplines in the past weeks.
Further talks address such topics as reputation management, remote work and leadership. Christian Berg, managing director of the AllBright Foundation, scrutinizes German SMEs, while Anahita Thoms, partner at Baker McKenzie, Dr. Sigrid Nikutta, board member for freight transport at Deutsche Bahn, and Dr. Daniel Dettling, CEO of the Institute for Future Policy, answer the question “Do women lead better in the (corona) crisis?”
Another highlight is the announcement of the Engineer Powerwoman 2020. The winner receives the 5,000-euro-prize at a virtual session. Elke Büdenbender, patron of the initiative Klischeefrei (cliché-free), and Prof. Barbara Schwarze, chair of the board at the Competence Center for Technology-Diversity-Equal Opportunity, are the award presenters.
