What is the name of your product?

SIMATIC WinCC Unified for Industrial Edge

What problem does your product solve?

Flexibility to realize distributed HMI solutions. SIMATIC WinCC Unified technologies allow maximum freedom in the selection of workflow environment. Besides typical panel and PC-based solutions also edge-based applications are possible. They make engineering, commissioning and maintenance of globally spread plants even more efficient.

What is the product’s main benefit for the customer?

  •    –   Remote Engineering:
  •    –   Reduce administration and maintenance effort due to a web-based engineering approach.
  •    –   Projects on the Edge engineering station can be developed directly via remote access using a web browser.
  •    –   Fast Engineering:
  •    –   Short turnaround times and project transfer without compilation is the key to fasten commissioning and thus to reduced time to market of distributed applications.

How can your product contribute to industrial transformation?

With Industrial Edge the administration of software in machines or plants is easier, more flexible, and more secure. Therefore, this technology is becoming increasingly important for industrial automation. A variety of apps is already available, focusing on acquisition, preprocessing or analysis of machine or plant data. Data, that needs to be visualized and shared with other systems, too. With the WinCC Unified Apps for Industrial Edge, we want to provide a suitable visualization solution for selected use cases in the coming months. More information will be added on this website, soon.

Are there any other important points that you can think of?
