Celebrating a milestone of success

On February 17, 2023 the US-American subsidiary SCHUNK Intec Inc. celebrated an important milestone. “Over the past 30 years, SCHUNK has become a real household name in the American market,” said a proud Henrik A. Schunk. Solutions from SCHUNK can now be found on American production floors in all industries, from the automotive industry to high-tech companies like Space-X. “Establishing such an esteemed brand is something we can be proud of,” Schunk emphasizes. He has a special relationship with the Morrisville site because he ran the Intec for several years.

First production site outside Germany

SCHUNK’s third international subsidiary was founded in August 1992 to be immersed in the USA market and close to American customers. SCHUNK opened its first production site outside Germany in 1996 in Morrisville, North Carolina. Today, SCHUNK USA employees a total of 172 people across all disciplines. At the facility in Morrsiville the team assemble automation components and machine hydraulic expansion toolholders and specials in 85,000 square feet of production space. The SCHUNK subsidiary plays a leading role in the group of companies for the entire North American market.

Today we celebrate not only our past, but our future!”

Convergix Automation Solutions has completed the acquisition of AGR Automation (“AGR”), a UK-based provider of custom, high-performance automation design and systems integration primarily to the life sciences industry.
