Ontario Supporting Advanced Manufacturing in Barrie

Ontario is partnering with Innovative Automation Inc. to help the company create 29 new jobs and retain 102 existing positions in Barrie.
Steven Del Duca, Minister of Economic Development and Growth, made the announcement today at Innovative Automation on behalf of Jeff Leal, Minister Responsible for Small Business.
Innovative Automation Inc. designs and builds automated assembly, welding and robotics equipment used in the automotive, consumer goods and medical devices sectors.
With support from the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund, Innovative Automation is investing in new engineering and design software and industry-leading production equipment to be housed in a new, purpose-built 62,300 square foot manufacturing facility. These investments will enable the company to take on larger, more complex projects, increase competitiveness and grow its business.
Supporting business investment in southwest Ontario is part of Ontario’s plan to create fairness and opportunity during this period of rapid economic change. The plan includes a higher minimum wage and better working conditions, free tuition for hundreds of thousands of students, easier access to affordable child care, and free prescription drugs for everyone under 25 through the biggest expansion of medicare in a generation.
