The Rockwell Automation 2018 TechED North America technical education and user conference concluded with over 2,300 attendees participating in a unique five-day learning and networking experience.

The event took place from June 10 to 15 in San Diego and featured over 300 hundred hours of training and knowledge sharing. Attendees joined hands-on labs, technical sessions and management discussions to learn about the latest techniques and technologies to optimize production data, build secure networks and accelerate a digital transformation.

Designed for end users, systems integrators, distributors, partners and machine builders, TechED created an opportunity for participants to learn from industry experts and hear how their peers are solving manufacturing and production challenges. The sessions focused on data analytics and on the convergence of IT/OT to achieve smart manufacturing by capturing industrial data. The event also provided attendees with the latest innovations in mobility and virtualization, information management and analytics, as well as safety and security.

“Every day we are working with our customers to help integrate production technology in the physical world into an interconnected, digital network. We do this because digitizing operations offers unprecedented opportunities for companies to boost production goals,” said Blake Moret, Rockwell Automation Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Our TechED event is designed to help our customers chart a path forward by hearing examples from real applications, discussing emerging trends and participating in training on our latest technologies and solutions.”

Companies sharing application stories at Rockwell Automation TechED included Amazon and Fonterra Dairy. Amazon sought to speed and ease edge data integration with their cloud services. With the help of Rockwell Automation, Amazon created standardized control templates that reduced commissioning time by up to 95 percent and increased delivery times. Fonterra Dairy, New Zealand’s leading global dairy nutrition company, highlighted the Rockwell Automation integrated control and information solutions that reduced time to identify and locate product across the supply chain from days to just hours.

Additional Rockwell Automation TechED conferences will be held in Asia Pacific and Europe in 2018.
