Experts meet at the EEC Forum

EEC

August 7, 2018

Both national and international customers as well as (potential) customers of EPLAN are invited to come discuss automated engineering, whether executives or users of the software. How do I implement an integrated and automated process, from order processing to engineering to manufacturing? Experts will be providing answers to this question and many others during the two-and-a-half-day event, which has become a “must attend” for many clients over the past five years.

Practical, first-hand experience of Industry 4.0

Participants can receive initial answers to the current challenges during an optional, half-day visit to the Rittal Innovation Center in Haiger, where they can get hands-on experience with control and switchgear engineering. On the following day, companies including Festo, Gebr. Heller, Spangler Automation, Zahnen Technik and Yaskawa Europe will be presenting practice-oriented insights into solutions that have already been implemented during the EEC Forum Talks. Expect a wide range of topics, from automation in control cabinet engineering, to the integrated use of a SAP configuration for engineering, to connecting web product configurators with automated engineering solutions. The declared maxim is maximum integration, from sales to engineering to manufacturing.

Sharing practical knowledge

The focus for the third and final day is lively discussions, with a total of twelve workgroups dealing with a variety of topics. Some of the agenda points include product structuring, SAP LO-VC connectivity to EEC, and configuration and automated data creation for EPLAN Data Portal. This allows attendees from different company divisions to pick the appropriate groups of topics for themselves and to have productive discussions with other experts in their fields. The workgroups will be complemented by keynote talks by GFaI (Society for Promoting Applied Informatics), Fischer Information Technology, KIM, Lenze SE and SAP.

Background

When EPLAN looks back over the past twelve months, seamless integration and automated engineering were amongst the key topics in discussions with clients. Nowadays, integration through to manufacturing is an absolute must. It’s not “whether,” but “how” that is of top concern right now in discussions with customers. Specifically, engineering processing must become fully automated – ideally networked with configuration processes in sales and/or order processing. EPLAN Engineering Configuration (EEC) is perfectly tailored for this task. With EEC, schematics and fluid-technology plans can be created automatically, as can 3D control cabinet setups, PLC programming, documentation and even mechanical engineering models. EEC controls the process by way of upstream configurators.

The number of participants for this year’s EEC Forum is limited to two hundred. To find out more and register free of charge, please go to: www.eplan.de/eecforum-2018.

ADVANCED Motion Controls Takes Servo Drives to New Heights (and Depths) with FlexPro Extended Environment Product Line

Advanced Motion Controls is proud to announce the addition of six new CANopen servo drives with Extended Environment capabilities to their FlexPro line. These new drives join AMC’s existing EtherCAT Extended Environment FlexPro drives, making the FlexPro line the go-to solution for motion control applications in harsh environments.

Many motion control applications take place in conditions that are less than ideal, such as extreme temperatures, high and low pressures, shocks and vibrations, and contamination. Electronics, including servo drives, can malfunction or sustain permanent damage in these conditions.
