Pepperl+Fuchs Announces Portfolio Expansion with the New F199 High-Precision Inclination Sensor
May 2, 2019
The new F199 from Pepperl+Fuchs is optimized for high-accuracy inclination measurement. Like other inclination sensors, the F199 provides measurement feedback of the angle tilt of machines or machine elements relative to gravitational force. But where standard sensors reach their limits because of inaccuracy, the F199 is the ideal solution.
The F199 precisely measures angles from 0 to 360° with less than 0.01° resolution and absolute accuracy of ±0.15° across the entire measuring range. With this and an extremely rugged design, the F199 offers a wide range of application possibilities, especially in outdoor areas and harsh environments. This new addition complements the current portfolio of inclination sensors, which includes the versatile F99 series.
Rugged and Suitable for Outdoor Use
The current F99 inclination sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs are based on a two-piece mounting concept, which makes them extremely sturdy. A metal mounting bracket provides the sensor module with impact protection. The all-new, one-part F199 inclination sensor supplements this existing portfolio. A corrosion-resistant aluminum housing, encapsulated electronics, and 100 g shock resistance make it incredibly rugged. The F199 is ideally suited for harsh conditions with its IP68/69K rating.
The F199’s high-accuracy inclination measurement offers absolute efficiency and numerous application possibilities. Potential uses include material handling, mobile equipment, and renewable energy. The F199 also makes tasks easier in application areas like agriculture, excavation, forestry, and firefighting because it helps extension ladders and cranes operate more efficiently by providing accurate angles for the base and boom. With the F199, equipment can be used safely on rough terrain. The F199 is available as a one- or two-axis sensor, and available outputs include CANopen, MODBUS, and analog.
Whether in machines and plants, mobile equipment, or solar power systems, inclination sensors are used wherever inclination angles have to be reliably measured. Pepperl+Fuchs’ all-new F199 provides absolute precision in applications where accuracy is paramount and environments are unforgiving.
