The Automation and Controls industry landscape is a very dynamic one in which technology, customer requirements, and industry standards are in a state of constant change and evolution. This environment requires solution providers to demonstrate agility and adaptivity to these ever-changing industry conditions in order to effectively support their clients, deliver value, and remain relevant in the market. In line with this trend, JMP Solutions is committed to proactively expanding its capabilities and footprint across target industry segments in order to continuously redefine what is possible for their customers.

As such, JMP Solutions announced today that they have acquired Calgary-based Hi-Def Controls, enhancing their presence in Western Canada while benefitting from additional competencies specifically in the Oil & Gas, Water & Wastewater, and Power Systems industry segments. The two organizations are a natural fit not only due to their focused industry alignment, but most notably, their common customer centric philosophy, which revolves around supporting their clients throughout the lifetime of their systems, not just for the length of the project; a culture which truly sets them apart from the bulk of the System Integrator market.

Scott Shawyer, JMP President & CEO, stated, “We are very happy that the Hi-Def team has decided to join us at JMP. Their capabilities are world class and allow us to ensure our customers have effective strategies in place for managing and optimizing their systems, information and technologies. Their customers will now be able to draw on the full-service offering of JMP. Their design and quality control expertise will complement our existing Calgary branch competencies.”

The Hi-Def Controls team comes with a wealth of relevant industry-specific experience which will not only provide synergies to the JMP Solutions organization but will also compliment the skills of the current JMP team allowing for growth, promoting learning, and ultimately resulting in the delivery of an even higher-level of end to end customer experience.

“I could not be more thrilled to have our team become part of JMP Solutions,” said Darren Hemsing (former President / CEO of Hi-Def Controls) and now JMP Calgary’s Automation Team Lead. “The customer driven values and business philosophies of the JMP team are in alignment with what we’ve been living within Hi-Def. I’m excited by the opportunity to be able to continue to support our clients in the manner that they have come to expect from Hi-Def Controls but now with the expanded capabilities afforded to us through the competencies that JMP Solutions brings to the table.”
