FANUC America will demonstrate robotic and automation solutions for the aerospace, medical, industrial machinery and consumer goods industries at Westec 2019, Sept. 24-26 in Long Beach, booth #1317.

CNC Powered Tabletop Router – FANUC will demonstrate its Series 0i-MODEL F CNC system running a tabletop router. FANUC motors power the motion on the system and show the speed and precision that is possible even on a small-scale router. In the demonstration, the router will simulate machining a 3-D image, requiring high precision and offering fast speeds. A sample of the finished piece will be available for visitors to see close up.

The 0i-F CNC and the servo motor cart controlling motion and movement are constructed as a FANUC CNC training simulator. These simulators can be fully customized and built to match a customer’s existing system so machine operators, programmers, and maintenance/engineering personnel can learn new skills, test new approaches and troubleshoot existing programs without taking a machine out of production. The Beta-i Servo Simulator provides 3-axis motion simulation so manufacturing engineers and maintenance personnel can visualize servo movement produced by their part program. The simulator may also be used for learning servo parameter setup and to enhance servo motor tuning skills.

Easy to Use Cobots

Lathe Loading– A FANUC CR-15iA collaborative robot uses iRVision® to locate a part and then loads it into a chuck to simulate machining. The robot unloads the part and the cycle repeats.

Interactive/Easy to Use – FANUC’s CR-7iA collaborative robot will demonstrate a variety of pre-programmed movements. With the push of a button, visitors can use the hand-guidance mode, which allows them to instruct the robot to perform different movements and record paths.

FANUC’s series of power and force limiting collaborative robots can handle 4-35 kg payloads and a 550-1813 mm reach. Easy to program and use – even for those with little or no experience – FANUC’s cobots are equipped with FANUC’s iHMI intuitive touch screen user interface that includes step-by-step programming instructions right from the teach pendant. Simple and straightforward programming helps reduce costs associated with operator training, minimizes setup time and increases system productivity. In addition, FANUC’s Hand Guidance feature allows operators to teach a collaborative robot by leading it through paths at the press of a button and/or use it to lift heavy objects manually.

FANUC’s six cobot models combine world-renowned automation technology, proven reliability and very sensitive built-in sensors that allow them to work safely alongside people in a variety of industrial/manufacturing jobs including machine tending, dispensing, inspection, kitting, palletizing, e-commerce, and more. In addition, FANUC’s collaborative robots are equipped with intelligent options such as iRVision® and force sensing.

High-Speed SCARA Robot – A FANUC SR-3iA SCARA robot will use iRVision circular tracking to pick fuses from a moving circular disc and place them on an outfeed conveyor. Circular tracking allows a compact system layout and minimizes product damage by eliminating unnecessary handling.

FANUC’s SR-3iA and SR-6iA SCARA robots feature high-speed, precise operation for pick and place, assembly, testing/inspection and packaging processes in a wide range of industries including consumer electronics, auto component, plastics, food and beverage, lab automation, appliances, medical device manufacturing and woodworking.

FANUC’s SCARA robots offer best-in-class motion performance. The SR-3iA offers a 3kg payload, 400mm reach, and 200mm stroke, and the SR-6iA has a 6kg payload, 650mm reach and 210mm stroke. A compact, lightweight design provides significant space savings.

ADVANCED Motion Controls Takes Servo Drives to New Heights (and Depths) with FlexPro Extended Environment Product Line

Advanced Motion Controls is proud to announce the addition of six new CANopen servo drives with Extended Environment capabilities to their FlexPro line. These new drives join AMC’s existing EtherCAT Extended Environment FlexPro drives, making the FlexPro line the go-to solution for motion control applications in harsh environments.

Many motion control applications take place in conditions that are less than ideal, such as extreme temperatures, high and low pressures, shocks and vibrations, and contamination. Electronics, including servo drives, can malfunction or sustain permanent damage in these conditions.
