Technology Days: First Digital Conference on Single Pair Ethernet Enjoys High-Volume International Participation
October 28, 2020
More than 1,500 registered participants attended the Technology Days, held for the first time as a virtual conference from September 22 to 23, 2020.
“That was a successful kick-off event,” summarized Dr. Moritz Wellige, Director Product Management Device Field Connectors at Phoenix Contact. “We were very pleased with the widespread, positive response on both conference days.”
An international audience from 60 countries attended the digital knowledge exchange held by the SPE System Alliance. The application-oriented presentations on SPE from the point of view of the PNO, BMW, and alliance-internal experts with subsequent open discussions were very popular with the participants. The presentations illustrated the development status of PHYs, cables, connection technology, and devices, and highlighted use cases from the automotive, building automation, and factory automation application environments. This was an opportunity to illustrate the very broad range of fields that the System Alliance is involved in.
“It is fantastic that the SPE System Alliance has grown steadily since it was founded,” emphasized Wellige. Vericom, EFB Elektronik, EBV Elektronik, and Techno s.r.l. are among the companies that have recently become members. On August 18, 2020, the date it was founded, the Alliance was integrated into standard association structures.
