Under the exhibition slogan “Create your safety”, at the international exhibition SPS Smart Production Solutions (23. – 25.11.2021) Pilz will be exhibiting safe automation solutions, covering aspects of safety (machinery safety) and industrial security in equal measure. Exhibition focus: solutions that are individually adaptable and so save costs, as they don’t need to be oversized.

For the first time, the 2021 Smart Production Solutions will be a hybrid event. Visitors to the Pilz stand will be able to try out batch size 1 for themselves, to see how easily it can be implemented for their own requirement: using the online tool myPNOZ Creator, it’s simple to create an individual, needs-based safety solution from a wide range of options available for the new type of modular safety relay myPNOZ – no knowledge of programming required.

The modular safety relay myPNOZ or the configurable small controller PNOZmulti 2 are not only part of Pilz’s exhibition presence but are also part of a comprehensive new Pilz solution for safely monitoring the carton infeed on packaging machines: Pilz will be presenting its packaging solution comprising PSEN (Pilz safe sensor technology) and safety relay / small controller – “safe and ready-to-use”, thereby saving costs and time.

Another exhibition highlight: Safe access

Complete safety gate solutions including access permission are another highlight: How to safeguard safety gates efficiently using individually adaptable solutions? How to implement safety and security requirements in equal measure? The modular safety gate system from Pilz will demonstrate the answer in Nuremberg: all modules in the safety gate system can be assembled individually, providing flexible safeguarding for accessible gates. Using the PSENmlock handle module, the latest addition to the safety gate system, Pilz will demonstrate how to implement safe solutions that are both safe and individually adaptable, using this comprehensive solution comprising a handle module with integrated actuator as well as integrated escape release – plus the safety gate sensor PSENmlock for safe interlocking and safe guard locking.

The package also contains the Type 3 safety light curtains PSENopt II, the first in the world to have approval from the global test organisation Underwriters Laboratories (UL), thereby meeting the national safety standards of the USA and Canada. With PSENopt II Type 3 it is easy to implement applications to Performance Level d (PL d), which ultimately saves costs as users don’t need to oversize.

“Licence-free” is another topic

Features of the latest solution from the configurable small controller PNOZmulti 2 are another focus of the exhibition. Thanks to the new modules, the small controller offers advanced options for the flexible implementation of applications, in the field of burner management and drive technology for example. Simple, safe access is a theme here too: in Nuremberg the automation company will be presenting Version 11.0 of the configuration software PNOZmulti Configurator – with new software architecture for even higher performance – and for the first time the basic version is accessible without a licence.

Focus on mobility

Under Services, Pilz is focusing on the safety of AGVs and AGV systems: operators of automated guided vehicles or automated guided vehicle systems must ensure that their system is not only designed safely but can also be used safely and above all productively in intralogistics, taking account of all the spatial and infrastructural conditions. At the exhibition Pilz will be presenting its new services package for safe applications with AGVs, which offers users full support with implementation.

Hybrid, yet personal

For the first time, the 2021 SPS Smart Production Solutions will be a hybrid event. The in-person exhibition will be supplemented by a digital offering. Virtual visitors can also access all the highlights and innovative solutions from Pilz via a digital platform. Experts from Pilz will be available for both digital and direct exchange.

ADVANCED Motion Controls Takes Servo Drives to New Heights (and Depths) with FlexPro Extended Environment Product Line

Advanced Motion Controls is proud to announce the addition of six new CANopen servo drives with Extended Environment capabilities to their FlexPro line. These new drives join AMC’s existing EtherCAT Extended Environment FlexPro drives, making the FlexPro line the go-to solution for motion control applications in harsh environments.

Many motion control applications take place in conditions that are less than ideal, such as extreme temperatures, high and low pressures, shocks and vibrations, and contamination. Electronics, including servo drives, can malfunction or sustain permanent damage in these conditions.
