Yaskawa Motoman Celebrates 30-year Anniversary

The Motoman Robotics Division of Yaskawa America, Inc. (Yaskawa Motoman) recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. Previously known as Motoman, Inc., the company was incorporated on July 18, 1989 as a 50/50 joint venture between Hobart Brothers Company and Yaskawa Electric America, and officially began operations on August 1, 1989. In 1994, Motoman Inc. became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yaskawa Electric Corporation (Kitakyushu, Japan), a worldwide leader in mechatronics and robots.

Recently, Verdantix, an independent research and consulting firm with expertise in environment, health, safety and quality, operational excellence and smart buildings, released their Green Quadrant IoT Platforms For Smart Buildings 2019 report. Johnson Controls was positioned as a leader in both IoT platform/application capabilities and momentum for strategic success in the Green Quadrant. The Green Quadrant graphical analysis was created using a flexible multi-criteria model to categorize and compare companies’ Integrated IoT platforms and Applications for Smart Buildings based on 21 key capabilities and six metrics gauging momentum for strategic success.

Rockwell Automation Named a Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Manufacturing Execution Systems for the Second Consecutive Year

Rockwell Automation, Inc. recently announced its recognition as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for the second consecutive year. Since the 2018 report, Rockwell Automation improved its position in the Leaders quadrant in both its ability to execute and completeness of vision. The report evaluated 16 vendors across criteria spanning 15 different elements.

On Tuesday, October 22, 2019, FANUC America had the great pleasure of hosting a Grand Opening of a new 461,000 square-foot facility in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Constructed and in full operation just one year after breaking ground, the new facility houses several departments including engineering, product development, manufacturing and warehousing.  Now, to keep pace with the growing demand for robots and automation, FANUC occupies over one million square feet of building space in Oakland County, Michigan.

Siemens ensures safe electrical installation at the new Bauhaus Museum Dessau

The new Bauhaus Museum Dessau (Germany) opened its doors in September 2019, featuring technology from Siemens Smart Infrastructure to help keep visitors and its extensive collection safe. A comprehensive solution for safe electrical installations extends throughout the museum’s 5,500 square meter footprint, which includes over 1,000 exhibits from the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation’s collection. The latter comprises 49,000 objects, making it the second-largest Bauhaus collection worldwide. It contains numerous student works and teaching documentation, as well as drafts and prototypes from the workshops of the renowned art academy, which celebrates its 100 th anniversary this year.
