Rittal Regional MOD Centres Streamline Custom Enclosure Modifications
July 21, 2020
Rittal takes an innovative approach in the design of their enclosures, but they also recognize your specific project may require even more customization.
To that end, Rittal has announced several new modification partners: Aztec Electrical Supply, House of Electrical Supplies, Litetec (a division of Rexel Atlantic), and Electrotech. With this program for wall mounts, junction boxes, and TS8’s in both carbon and stainless steel, they can meet almost any specification. By using Rittal’s configuration system (RiCS), you can design your enclosure for free and submit it for a quote, or to be designed accordingly.
“Select a small enclosure, bay TS8s together, select appropriate accessories, specify cut-outs in 3D, and make an inquiry to receive CAD model data,” explains Rittal.
Earlier this year, Aztec Electrical Supply enhanced their modification capabilities when they acquired the Perforex machining centre, “which can be deployed for drilling, thread tapping, wiring, and milling when machining enclosures and panels of all sizes,” said Frank Dinis, of Aztec Electrical Supply. “Our primary focus is to provide electrical contractors, manufacturing facilities and machine builders with a single source for the support of all electrical controls and automation components. With the Perforex Machining Centre, we are capable of providing custom enclosure builds and modifications, saving valuable time and expense for our customers.”
The Perforex machine centre can complete 10 hours of production work in 90 minutes. Gerard Leblanc of Litetec spoke from his personal experience of customizing enclosures with and without the Perforex machine: “If you’re doing it by hand, I’m going to be able to do it quicker and better, every time.”
“With the experience of the Rexel team we have here working for us, we’ve been through lots of different scenarios and we can definitely help bring the right solution to our customers,” added Michael Hutchings of Litetec. Litetec, located in NB, is a leader in Quality Controls and Automation Systems, and has been providing custom solutions for all electrical, control, and automation applications since 1991.
Austin Brennan, President, House of Electrical Supplies, added that, “The Perforex machine offers faster throughput, higher efficiency, greater precision, less waste, and lower costs to our customers, while boosting their corporate image through unique, customized designs.” House of Electrical Supplies is a distributor of Rittal Systems, and has set up an exclusive website highlighting the advantages of Perforex, which you can find HERE.
“We are pleased to offer our customers enhanced productivity by automating and streamlining manual modification and wiring processes. Our experienced staff in our state-of-the-art Modifications Centres are well equipped to modify our enclosures in record time, leading to cost-effective production and enhanced quality, while adding repeatability to processes and reducing lead-times for customers,” said Rittal President, Tim Rourke.
Overall, Rittal’s modification partner program is meant to increase efficiency and accuracy when it comes to customizing panels and enclosures. The production time savings makes using RiCS economical — even if it’s just for a single panel or enclosure.
