Rittal Systems Ltd. Announces the Winners of the Rittal ‘Women in Tech’ EFC Scholarships

Rittal Systems Ltd. recently awarded the winners of the  Electro-Federation Canada ‘Women in Tech’ Scholarship program cheques of $1,750 each to pursue their careers in the Electrical & Manufacturing Industry. 

Back in Feb 2020, EFC announced their annual Scholarship program that provides university and college students, who are interested in pursuing a career in the Electrical industry, with funding to support their academics. The Electrical industry is “Powering a Changing World” in areas such as digitization, electrification, Internet of Things (IoT) and other emerging technologies providing many exciting career opportunities.

We wish to thank all the talented women who applied for these scholarships. We are confident that both Melissa and Itohansose are worthy recipients and will make us proud with their dedication to the industry and to advanced studies in their areas of expertise”.

Melissa Montenegro

Melissa is an Energy Systems EngTech Candidate at Mohawk College, experienced in Power Generation Projects in both Oil & Gas and Thermoelectric Power Plants. Her career interests include Clean Energy Engineering and Energy Sources Diversification. She has a personal Interest in supporting STEM and Women in Tech and Trades Programs.  She says, “Beyond being a great financial support for me, this award has given me the satisfaction that everything I have done in my studies, volunteering, as well as support for Women in Tech, has led to this. Itohansose (Osose) Itua

Itohansose is currently studying Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo. She says, “I am honoured to be one of the first recipients of this scholarship as it will motivate me to continue to strive for excellence as my program progresses. I hope this also inspires other girls who are interested in Tech to pursue it and to know that there is support for them. This funding will help me in my educational pursuits to relieve some of the financial burden that comes with studying at a distinguished University such as Waterloo. I would like to thank Rittal and EFC for this scholarship and I admire their vision to empower people like me to be able to pursue their passions in the Electrical Industry.
