RAFI delivers complete modular control component offering with expanded ring illumination and tactile versions

RAFI 22FS 400

February 19, 2019

RAFI USA has expanded its low-profile, modular control component family that sets the industry standard for design flexibility, modularity and aesthetics. The advanced RAFIX 22 FS+ control component series offers a modern and variable design concept that enables designers to individually adapt control components to customize a control panel. The 9.2mm behind-the-panel depth for the activation elements enables extremely slender product casing solutions.

The enhanced RAFIX 22 FS+ control component series now includes ring illumination options in a broad range of colors, as well as a tactile version that offers more precise haptic responses.

The complete functional spectrum of the actuators covers illuminated and non-illuminated push-buttons, rotary selector, keylock, as well as various emergency stop (E-stop) push buttons. Signal indicators, potentiometer actuators, and robust USB feed-throughs round out the RAFIX FS 22+ product line. These different actuating and indicator elements expand design options available to engineers in control panel applications to enhance the human machine interface (HMI) experience.

Suitable for most any application, all actuation components provide a minimum IP65 protection. Special tactile feedback is available for applications with specific haptic requirements like those where operators wear gloves. All actuating elements in this series are interchangeable with series switching elements. Round or square actuator shapes with interchangeable front rings are available in various colors and with different surfaces. Actuators can be ideally combined with other electronic components, as well as with RAFI short-travel key switches, on a shared PCB.

“RAFI understands that control components play an important role in differentiating a machine and enhancing the users experience,” said Gary Mountford, VP of Components at RAFI-USA. “Users increasingly expect sophisticated, ergonomically sound, and aesthetic design, even from industrial input and operation devices. The RAFIX 22 FS+ control component family provides a great deal of flexibility to deliver design freedom and customization with advanced aesthetics.”

RAFIX 22 FS+ offers variability in lighting technology, as 3 mm THT LEDs or SMT LEDs can be used for the homogeneous illumination of control components. The lamps and PCB contact blocks are set onto the base PCB. The PCB contact blocks are available with gold contacts for low voltages of 5 V to 35 V, or with silver contacts for voltages up to a maximum of 250 V.

ADVANCED Motion Controls Takes Servo Drives to New Heights (and Depths) with FlexPro Extended Environment Product Line

Advanced Motion Controls is proud to announce the addition of six new CANopen servo drives with Extended Environment capabilities to their FlexPro line. These new drives join AMC’s existing EtherCAT Extended Environment FlexPro drives, making the FlexPro line the go-to solution for motion control applications in harsh environments.

Many motion control applications take place in conditions that are less than ideal, such as extreme temperatures, high and low pressures, shocks and vibrations, and contamination. Electronics, including servo drives, can malfunction or sustain permanent damage in these conditions.
