Phoenix Contact: Safety relay with solid state outputs
August 12, 2019
Due to the non-expandable switching function, the PSR-MC31 safety relay module is suitable for all safety applications where a high number of operating cycles is required.
Each output has a switching capacity of over 2 A. This allows larger loads such as hydraulic valves to be operated. A short response time of less than 10 ms allows reduced safety distances. The relay is compatible with all relevant sensors such as electromechanical emergency stop switches, interlocks, light grids, and safety edges or mats. Because of the small footprint, the device enables up to 50% space savings compared to classical relay modules. If several modules must be connected to each other, each module provides a separate cascading input. And each module can be configured with an automatic or manual monitored start. This is in accordance with EN ISO 13849, as required for safety functions with whole body access. Thanks to the TUEV approval, safety-oriented applications up to PL e or SIL 3 can be realized.
