Bender Consolidates LifeGuard Technology, Expediting Ordering Process
December 8, 2020
Bender has made changes to the LifeGuard product line in order to consolidate similar models, reducing the complexity from 3,600 models down to 18 models. Bender’s LifeGuard panels ensure that facilities receive the latest in ground-fault protection–every model can now be used for up to 600 V, any phase configuration, and all models will detect both AC and DC ground faults. The consolidated models will be loaded and priced in Bender’s management systems to avoid customers needing to wait on model and pricing approval or engineering reviews.
Discussing the rationale for this change Steve Mason, Bender’s Vice President Americas said, “As an organization, we take pride in listening to feedback from not only our customers but our internal employees. By simplifying the selection, we improve efficiency and turnaround which will improve customer satisfaction.”
Benefits from the LifeGuard consolidation include:
- – Broader application of each standard model
- – Simplified selection guide for customers
- – Only three fields to populate and
- – Ability to pick from ordering information list
- – All models loaded and priced in ERP system
- – Customer does not have to wait for model approval or pricing
- – Fewer models allow inventory build
- – Quicker order fulfilment
- – Potential ship-from-stock service
Merv Savostianik, Product Manager commented, “Customers benefit from the restructured Lifeguard lineup due to the universal voltage from 120 to 600 V and broader current ratings making model selection far easier with improved availability. Selectable features include type 4X poly and stainless enclosed, and open styles.”
Additional features:
- – Models for 20, 60, and 100-A circuit protection
- – All models suitable for 120 to 600 V and 2, 3, and 4-wire circuits
- – Fixed-level 6-mA inverse-time or field-adjustable definite-time trip characteristic
- – Protect against both AC and DC ground faults
- – Grounded-neutral protection
- – Compatible with systems and circuits with variable-frequency drives (VFDs)
- – Easy-to-install NEMA 4X polycarbonate or stainless-steel enclosure, or open styles
- – UL 508A Listed Industrial Control Panels
