By integrating high-efficiency liquid cooling, power systems and ORV3 infrastructure, we are empowering data centers to thrive in the era of AI with reduced energy consumption.”
This year, Delta will presented solutions that enhance power delivery and cooling efficiency, crucial for scaling AI workloads and data center sustainability. These advanced technologies aim to meet the growing challenges in cloud-to-edge environments, enabling customers to reduce their environmental impact while maximizing computational performance.
Delta’s ORV3 Solutions Boost Power Efficiency for AI Data Centers
Delta offers advanced technologies including optimize power & robust ORV3 rack for AI accelerators and next-gen AI data centers. These solutions are engineered to handle the increasing demands of AI workloads while maintaining superior energy efficiency.
- Power Capacitance: This innovative 1RU/1OU Power Capacitance Shelf (PCS) mitigates the GPU dynamic load reflections to the AC grid, such as AI server EDPP and Idle mode transitions. The PCS is able perform fast charge and discharge power transition due to the advantages of the Lithium-Ion Capacitor (LIC). The LIC provides high power density and long hold-up time (15-second/20kW load) to ensure a stable power supply for AI and cloud computing servers and therefore increase the power system reliability. The PCS is available for 19” rack and the latest 21” ORV3 standard rack.
- Power Shelf: The advanced 1RU/1OU 33kW power shelves provide maximum power output of 33kW (or 27.5 kW with 5+1 redundancy), accommodating six hot-pluggable 5.5kW power supply units that supports a 150% load capability for 20 milliseconds to offer protection from sudden current increases. The power shelves integrate power management controller (PMC) with industry-leading Power over Ethernet (PoE) capabilities for smart power management in AI data centers. Earlier this year, Delta introduced new 19” 1RU 33kW Power Shelf, maintaining an impressive efficiency of 97.5% while reducing dimensions from 21” to 19”.
- Battery Backup System: The 33kW battery backup system with 2OU compact size is an ideal solution for AI data Center. With 97.5% efficiency and UL9540A-certified, it ensures reliability and significant OPEX and carbon savings.
- AI Networking Solutions: Presenting Delta’s comprehensive 800G Data Center Switches which feature the newly debuted Broadcom 51.2T Tomahawk5® – Bailly Co-packaged Optics (CPO) Ethernet Switch. This cutting-edge technology delivers the industry’s lowest power consumption per gigabit, ensuring top-tier efficiency. With the undergoing 1.6T technology development, Delta will provide the most advanced cloud networking to meet diverse AI/ML need.”
Liquid Cooling Solutions Designed for AI-Driven Data Centers
Delta featured its state-of-the-art Air Assisted Liquid Cooling (AALC) and Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU) products, designed for both existing and new data centers. Also featuring the cutting-edge Cold Plates designs for latest generation GPUs/CPUs.
- Cold Plates and In Rack CDUs: The highly efficient cold plates design for hyperscale and enterprise AI compute cooling need offer a seamless solution for data centers looking to upgrade and transition their current air-cooled systems. Delta will present highly efficient cold plates designed for advanced GPUs/CPUs that can operate in conjunction with the latest liquid-to-liquid In Rack CDUs, boasting over 135kW cooling capacity. Also featured are the liquid-to-air CDUs. With this comprehensive In Rack CDU line-up, Delta offers complete liquid cooling solutions tailored for AI servers, switches, and racks.
- AALC: The Liquid-to-Air solution offers 40 to 144kW of cooling capacity. Its closed-loop architecture eliminates the need for raised floors or piping. It’s perfect to upgrade for existing air-cooling systems. With a cooling fluid flow rate of 1.5 LPM/kW, the system is tailored to meet the thermal demands of high-end GPU servers.
- CDU: The Liquid-to-Liquid cooling solution provides up to 1.5 MW of cooling capacity. This solution is specifically designed to handle the thermal challenges of multiple high-density racks, each exceeding 100kW, ideal for AI driven workloads.
Delta’s GPU Solutions: Maximizing Efficiency for AI Acceleration
Delta showcased its power conversion and thermal solutions designed to meet the high computational demands of GPUs.
- High-Density Power Chokes: The power chokes incorporate patented designs and specialized materials that deliver excellent saturation current and low power loss. These high-density power chokes are ideal for voltage conversion in AI accelerators, ensuring maximum performance with minimal energy waste.
- DCDC Converters for GPUs: The Regulated Bus Converters (RBC) Series features the world’s first 4,000W converter powering GPU-accelerated servers in AI and HPC. It operates within a 40-60V input range, delivers a 12V output with a peak of 6,000W, and achieves up to 98.5% efficiency. Another highlight is the single-stage transformer-coupled voltage regulator (TVR), which has a 48V input and 1.8V output with a 170A rating.
