Pilz: IndustrialPI – The Flexible and Versatile Industrial PC That Adapts to All Your Needs

November 11, 2024

With the IndustrialPI industrial PC, Pilz supports you in the implementation of the most varied applications in industrial automation. Thanks to its modular design, the open, Linux-based operating system and integrated interfaces, IndustrialPI is a true all-rounder.

IndustrialPI is versatile, whether purely as an industrial PC, industrial controller (soft PLC) or as an IIoT gateway for your data. It is thus ideally equipped to implement your IIoT, automation and motion projects in industrial automation environments.

The industrial PC is based on the familiar Raspberry Pi. The computer module was installed in a housing that was developed specifically for industrial use, including an expansion board for interfaces and connections suitable for industrial applications. As a result it is perfectly suitable for use in your industrial automation environment. Depending on the requirement, the base module can be expanded seamlessly using the appropriate digital and analogue I/O modules.

How to use the IndustrialPI:

  • IIoT gateway

As a gateway for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), IndustrialPI collects data in the immediate vicinity of plant and machinery and connects the IIoT to cloud services. Used as an IIoT gateway, for example, IndustrialPI sends data from the configurable small controllers PNOZmulti to your cloud. You thus have access to your data from around the world, from any location! You can use and evaluate your data system-wide, in order to optimise your processes. It is also possible to set up interfaces to your own IT systems as well as to cloud solutions.

  • Automation controller

With IndustrialPI you have a flexible solution for your automation task, as it can be used as a modular and powerful soft PLC for a wide variety of automation projects. For pure control applications such as reading in inputs and switching outputs, through to synchronous axis movements and in your machine’s powertrain: We have the right automation solution for your application! With the help of IndustrialPI, the widest range of complex tasks can be implemented quickly and simply.

Your benefits at a glance:

  • The optimum solution for many industrial application areas (e.g. packaging industry, intralogistics)
  • Enables flexible use as an automation controller or IIoT gateway, tailored to your application
  • Rugged housing and 24 V connection allow industrial application
  • Can be integrated into all common system architectures
  • Simple programming possible

Technical features:

  • Operating system: Linux
  • Commonly used industrial communication protocols
  • Open system
  • Digital and analogue processing

ADVANCED Motion Controls Takes Servo Drives to New Heights (and Depths) with FlexPro Extended Environment Product Line

Advanced Motion Controls is proud to announce the addition of six new CANopen servo drives with Extended Environment capabilities to their FlexPro line. These new drives join AMC’s existing EtherCAT Extended Environment FlexPro drives, making the FlexPro line the go-to solution for motion control applications in harsh environments.

Many motion control applications take place in conditions that are less than ideal, such as extreme temperatures, high and low pressures, shocks and vibrations, and contamination. Electronics, including servo drives, can malfunction or sustain permanent damage in these conditions.
