Reliable Controls: RC-FLEXone, an Innovative New Building Controller Packed With Flexibility and Processing Power

September 11, 2024

Reliable Controls has recently launched the RC-FLEXone, a flexible BACnet Building Controller designed to suit a wide range of equipment and room control applications and to evolve with the needs of the built environment.

“The RC-FLEXone isn’t just a controller,” says Rudolf Erasmus, Hardware Manager at Reliable Controls. “It’s a tool that will inspire confidence in buildings around the world. With its advanced features and adaptability, the RC-FLEXone empowers our Authorized Dealers to deliver solutions that are truly better by design.”

The RC-FLEXone features innovative FLEX I/O technology that lets facility professionals customize its inputs and outputs to meet the unique demands of any building. This flexibility supports painless design changes and expansions, reducing the need for additional controllers and providing the ability to scale solutions efficiently. Building owners can expand their systems with ease, future-proofing their investments while minimizing costs and disruptions.

Engineered with a triple-core processor, dual Ethernet connectivity, and tons of nonvolatile memory, the RC-FLEXone can store over a million data points at the controller level, reducing the risk of data loss and providing capacity for advanced energy sequencing and integrated fault detection and diagnostics. Its robust memory sets it apart from other application controllers, making it an ideal choice for ensuring long-term adaptability in a building automation system.

The RC-FLEXone is the latest addition to an exciting new generation of simple, flexible, sustainable building controllers from Reliable Controls. Following the success of the RC-FLEXair advanced variable air volume controller, introduced in 2021, the RC-FLEXone uses a modular architecture with an open source, Linux-based operating system that accelerates the development of future products.

“In a world where machine learning, advanced analytics, and now AI are increasingly prevalent, having future-ready hardware that processes information quickly and efficiently is more important than ever,” says Cameron Lutz, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Reliable Controls. “The RC-FLEX family of controllers not only delivers on that need but also provides massive memory to store and move data seamlessly, ensuring building owners can stand at the helm of sustainability.”

Reliable Controls tests every product it manufactures to ensure compatibility with previous-generation controllers, minimize their impact on the environment, and provide years of dependable service. All Reliable Controls hardware products are manufactured from highly recyclable materials in an ISO 2015:9001– and 2015:14001–certified facility and comply with RoHS 3WEEE, and R2 directives to ensure easy, clean disposal at the end of their useful life.

The RC-FLEXone is available exclusively through more than 240 Reliable Controls Authorized Dealers in over 45 countries around the world.
